Title 1 Parent/Teacher/Student/School Compact
Administrator Agreement:
It is important that students achieve and parents are involved. Therefore, I shall strive to:
· Provide a safe environment that promotes positive communication among students, parents, and faculty.
· Provide a viable and high quality curriculum and instruction and best practices in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables students to meet the State’s academic achievement standards.
· Provide multiple opportunities for parent/teacher conferences.
· Provide parents with reasonable access to staff, volunteer opportunities, participate, and observe in their child’s class.
· Support all personnel to ensure that the focus is on all students learning.
· Model and teach behaviors which are used to treat others with dignity and respect.
· Treat students, parents, and staff members with dignity and respect.
· Encourage teachers and students to strive toward high expectations academically, socially, and physically.
· Coordinate communication to parents regarding learning expectations and current programs.

Teacher Agreement:
It is important that students achieve. Therefore, I shall strive to:
· Provide high quality, rigorous, and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students daily. Establish a safe and enriching classroom environment.
· Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning for all students.
· Provide meaningful homework assignments and interventions for students to achieve academic success.
· Model and treat all students, parents, and staff with dignity and respect.
· Provide regular information to students and parents by providing frequent information about student progress using a two-way communication system in addition to the weekly folder.
· Encourage parents to volunteer in the classroom.
· Use teacher web page to inform and update parents.
· Hold annual parent-teacher conferences offered at flexible times, during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.

As a parent/guardian, I want my child to succeed. Therefore, I shall strive to:
· See that my child is punctual and attends school regularly and encourage his/her best efforts.
· Provide a set bedtime that gives my child sufficient sleep to function at school.
· Support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline and dress.
· Establish a time and a quiet place for homework and studying.
· Monitor, review, and sign homework, graded papers and interims through the use of agenda book and communications folder.
· Model and teach my child behaviors which are used to treat others with dignity and respect.
· Stay aware of what my child is learning by making periodic visits and volunteering in my child’s classroom.
· Attend parent/teacher conferences and return progress reports and report cards.
· Develop a partnership with the school to help my child achieve State’s academic standards.
· Monitor amount of multimedia (television, computer, video games) watched and played.
· Actively participate at Germantown Elementary by serving on committees such as the School Improvement Team, Parent Advisory Council, and/or Parent Teacher Association.
· Discuss the school-parent compact with my child.
